The Ilorin observation site operates under the auspices of Professor S. O. O. O. O. Amali, Vice-Chancellor, Professor O. B. Oloyede, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Professor J. O. Adeniyi,  Head of the Department of Physics. Professor C. Akoshile serves as the station Manager.  Professor R. T. Pinker, Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Science at the University of Maryland, directs research related to observations made at this site. The University of Ilorin has committed technical help for the daily supervision of the station. The University of Maryland was instrumental in setting the station up, training local scientists, providing data quality checks, database preparation and transfer to designated centers, as well as conducting collaborative research with the information collected.

Dr. E. Dutton, NOAA/ERL/CMDL, Director of the Baseline Surface Radiation Network (BSRN ), provides help with instrument calibration. B. Holben, Manager of the AERONET network, supports the calibration and upgrading of the CIMEL sun photometer, which measures optical properties of aerosol. Help and data archiving is being provided by the World Radiation Monitoring Center (WRMC) , the Eidgenossische Technische Hochschule (ETH ), Zurich, Switzerland. Finally, funds for Ilorin site personnel participation at BSRN international meetings are provided by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) /WCRP.
